Osaki OS-4000XT Review

If you are in the market for a massage chair, the Osaki OS-4000XT is likely to catch your eye. This model is one of the best-selling options available on Costco, but is it truly worth the investment? In this review, we will take an in-depth look at the features and capabilities of the Osaki OS-4000XT to help you decide if it is the right choice for you.

What are the features of the Osaki OS-4000XT massage chair?

Massage

The most important part of our Osaki OS-4000XT review is the massage. The quad-style roller mimics the motion of human hands and uses a 2D plane movement. The rollers move up and down and side to side, following an L-Track design. This allows for a full massage from the neck to the lower back and even under the glutes.

In my experience, the massage provided by the Osaki OS-4000XT is satisfactory for its price point. The neck massage, in particular, is noteworthy and feels great. However, some users have expressed disappointment with the intensity of the back massage. This could be a result of improper body scanning during setup. It's essential to remain still during the initial scan to ensure accurate results. If the body scan is not done correctly, the massage will be inconsistent.

Overall, the massage is of average intensity, making it suitable for daily use. If you are looking for a massage chair with a range of massage intensity options, you may want to consider a 3D massage chair.

Compression Massage

The Osaki OS-4000XT is a feature-packed massage chair that comes equipped with 24 airbags strategically placed throughout the chair. The airbags are located at the arms, hands, shoulders, sides of the calves, and feet. These airbags provide an invigorating massage experience, but some users have reported that the intensity of the air massage is not sufficient. However, this can easily be adjusted to one's preference with the 5 intensity levels provided.

One of the limitations of the chair is that it does not come with hip or lumbar airbags, which may affect the effectiveness of body stretching programs.

Automatic Programs

The OS-4000XT chair offers a variety of massage techniques, including Kneading, Tapping, Swedish, Clapping, Rolling, and Shiatsu, as well as 6 automatic programs to choose from, such as Neck/Shoulder, Strengthen, Relax, Thai, Recover, and Sleeping. Overall, the programs are well-coordinated and provide a satisfying experience.

However, there are a few downsides to note. The chair automatically returns to an upright position after the massage program is finished, which may be inconvenient for those who want to nap afterwards. Additionally, the default massage time is 15 minutes and if you want to extend the massage, you will need to select the program again.

Zero Gravity Recline

Zero gravity recline is the ultimate position for a massage (and take a nice nap). As the chair reclines, the ottoman will raise up bringing your knees about to the heart level. This effectively takes the force of gravity and distributes across your entire body relieving stress and tension from your joints and spine. A must have for any massage chair.

Lumbar Heat

A heating pad can enhance the massage experience by relaxing muscles and increasing circulation. However, in our review of the Osaki OS-4000XT massage chair, we found that the heating function was not effective, and we have received similar feedback from other customers.

Extendable Ottoman

The ottoman of the Osaki OS-4000XT is designed with a spring-loaded mechanism, allowing you to adjust its length by pressing down with your feet. According to Osaki, this feature accommodates individuals as tall as 6'2", but for those with longer legs, it may be more comfortable for people around 6’ in height.

Design

One of the things that I like most about the OS-4000XT is that it has a sleek and modern design, which will complement most living rooms. The chair is also made with high-quality materials that are durable and easy to clean. The chair comes with a 3-year warranty, which is great peace of mind.

Additional Features

  • Foot Rollers
  • Bluetooth Speaker
  • LCD Remote
  • Ache Sensor

Are there alternatives to the Osaki OS-4000XT Massage Chair?

While the Osaki OS-4000XT massage chair is great at the price on Costco, there are better alternatives.

Osaki OS-Pro Alpina

We are impressed with the Pro Alpina massage chair, which includes a touch-screen tablet remote, updated airbag technology that targets the waist and hips, more programs, and improved heat therapy. When you catch it is on sale, it is actually cheaper than the OS-4000XT. Be sure to check out our comparison for a detailed look at its features.

Ogawa Active L Plus

The Ogawa Active L Plus is a great alternative to the Osaki OS-4000XT. It offers improved heat therapy, a touchscreen remote, memory programs, additional airbags including those targeting the waist and hips, an automatic extendable ottoman, and much more. It's no wonder it's one of our expert's top picks for massage chairs.

Do you price match the Osaki OS-4000XT massage chair?

Yes, we offer price matching for the Osaki OS-4000XT massage chair. Simply use our price match form and one of our experts will assist you. Additionally, if you are not located in Nevada, you will also not have to pay sales tax.

Is the Osaki OS-4000XT massage chair worth it?

In conclusion, the Osaki OS-4000XT massage chair offers a variety of features and functions to enhance the massage experience. Its zero gravity recline position and quad style rollers are beneficial for reducing stress and tension in the body. However, the heating function was not effective and may not be suitable for everyone. Overall, the Osaki OS-4000XT massage chair is a good option for those looking for a comfortable and relaxing massage experience, but its heating function is not up to the mark, and you can find more features in other chairs around the same price range.
