New Massage Chair Owner's Guide: Delivery, Setup and Your First Week

Your new massage chair is on its way. This owner's guide walks through what to do before delivery, on delivery day, during setup and in your first week, using the steps on our shipping information page and the details on your chair's product page.

Before Delivery

Pick the spot

Choose where the chair will go before it arrives. Each product page lists a distance-to-wall figure, the space the chair needs behind it to recline fully. For example, the Osaki OS-Highpointe 4D needs less than 1 inch, while the Kyota Zenyu M338 needs 9 inches. Also check the reclined length so the footrest has room.

Measure the path

Check the box dimensions and the minimum door width on your product page, then measure every doorway, hallway and turn between the curb and the room. Look for an outlet near the spot you chose, too.

Line up help

Massage chairs are heavy and arrive in large boxes. With free Curbside Delivery, the freight company delivers to a carport or first-floor entryway, and you'll need help moving the boxes inside and assembling the chair. If you don't have help, In-Home Delivery and Assembly is available for an added fee.

Shipping outside the 48 states

Free shipping covers the contiguous U.S. (48 states). If you live in Alaska, Hawaii or Canada, call 888-360-9996 for a custom quote before you order.

Delivery Day

Watch for the call

When your order ships, you'll get tracking. The freight carrier will call to schedule a delivery time once the chair reaches your area. A signature is required on delivery.

Inspect before you sign

Look over every box when it arrives. If you see damage, note it on the delivery slip before the driver leaves, then contact our team. Our shipping page explains that if an item is partly damaged, we'll get a replacement part to you, and if it can't be saved, you can refuse delivery and contact us.

With White Glove delivery

If you chose In-Home Delivery and Assembly, the two-person team will deliver, unpack and assemble the chair in your room of choice. Be ready to supervise. If there's a problem with the installation, call us at 888-360-9996 before the team leaves.

Setup and First Checks

Assembly is required and can take 30-90 minutes, depending on the chair. Follow the manual. Most product pages have a manual you can download.

Once the chair is together, run the checks from our shipping page:

  1. Plug the chair in and press the power button.
  2. Sit in the chair and start an automatic program.
  3. Make sure all of the airbags inflate.
  4. Make sure both arms are tightened securely.

If anything isn't working, take clear, well-lit photos (one close-up and one farther away) and call us.

Your First Week

Start with automatic programs

Automatic programs are a simple way to learn what your chair can do. Most chairs also have manual settings and memory slots. Your manual lists what each one does.

Learn your controls

Depending on the model, you may have a touchscreen tablet, a handheld remote, armrest controls, voice control or an app. Try each one so you know where the pause and recline controls are.

Use the body scan

Many chairs run a body scan at the start of a program. Sit back fully against the backrest so the scan can find your shoulder position.

Try the extras

Check whether your chair has Bluetooth speakers, heat or device charging, and how to switch them on.

Keep the Packaging

Keep all boxes and packing material for the first 30 days. Returns must be in the original packaging, and a return fee applies. See our refund policy.

Warranty

Each product page lists your chair's warranty. For example, the Titan TP-Epic 4D lists a 3-year limited warranty, and the Kyota Zenyu M338 lists a 4-year limited warranty. Keep your order details handy in case you need service.

If You Need Help Later

Call us at 888-360-9996 if something doesn't seem right. Clear photos help our team assess problems quickly, and your product page lists the warranty that applies to your chair.

Enjoy Your Chair

Give yourself a week to explore the programs and settings. Once you find programs you like, save them to a memory slot if your chair has one, so you can start them with a single button.
